I help divorced individuals rediscover who they are and support them through the variety of transitions they experience in their post-divorce world.  I also work with individuals who are contemplating divorce or who are in the middle of the divorce process.

Coaches believe that their clients have the answers within. However, we all face internal blocks and various stressors that affect our perspective and how we think, feel, and act.  Of course, Divorce. Is. Stressful.  A coach asks empowering questions to help clients gain more self-awareness, which in turn leads to valuable insights that help them have more control in choosing their quality of life.  Before, during, and after divorce, a coach wants individuals to face, embrace, and then move forward from their fears, worries, sadness, anger, confusion, or whatever else might be affecting more constructive thinking and accomplishment of goals.   It is completely normal to feel paralyzed by your emotions before, during, or after going through a divorce.  Or, you may even be experiencing joy because the divorce is something that you wanted and initiated.  So, what’s next?   The more conscious you are about your thoughts and feelings, the more control and understanding you will have about your life’s experiences.  Take control over this next chapter in life.

I am a wanderlust and truly believe that the best medicine in life is laughter.  Therefore, I never miss the chance to share that I was voted Class Clown in high school.  My humor has served me well through all aspects of life.

+ EDUCATION

My education has led me down a path that I never could have imagined when electing my major back at the age of 18. I graduated magna cum laude from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Communications. At Grand Valley, I learned the importance of community and connection. I treasure my close friendships that blossomed from my undergrad experience.

Immediately after Grand Valley graduation, I decided to attend law school and I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2012. During my law school career, my first internship was at a family law firm. Family law helped me discover my authentic way of practicing law and helping families. I have never subscribed to being a “traditional” lawyer – one who loves to argue and debate. Rather, I am drawn to cooperative, peaceful ways of problem solving. Becoming a Collaborative family law attorney and mediator opened my eyes to different ways of helping families and individuals who are experiencing divorce.

Through various networking opportunities, I met a life coach during my legal journey. When I started to learn more about coaching, I had an “ah-ha!” moment. As a Collaborative attorney and mediator, I am already guiding and supporting clients through the divorce process. BUT - I wanted more. I always felt something was missing. The legal aspects of a divorce are just one of many. Post-divorce, individuals are now taking the courageous leap of rediscovering who they are and adjusting to several changes that have occurred through the divorce process. I wanted my guidance and support to continue long after the ink has dried on the legal paperwork. This led me to life coaching.

After researching several programs, I found the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) to be the right fit for me. iPec is an internationally recognized leader in the field of coaching education. And, now that I am a Certified Professional Coach and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP), I can say, with confidence, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. Once I became more self-aware about who I am as an attorney and the type of services I wanted to offer, it opened up opportunities to expand my thinking and accomplish more of my goals. Coaching is another extension of who I am as a peacemaker in my legal world.

+ MY COACHING

Through post-divorce coaching, I motivate clients to be more conscious and self-aware of who they are and how their divorce has affected their thoughts, feelings, and actions. By helping clients gain more control and understanding about themselves, I can support them to make shifts in their thinking to propel them forward to accomplish whatever goals they set out for themselves.

I have dedicated my career to helping individuals through transitions related to divorce. The greatest reward is helping others have their own “ah-ha!” moments and witnessing the shift in energy that helps individuals rediscover, rebuild, and move forward with a fresh perspective on life.

+ THE EUCALYPTUS LEAF

I chose to include eucalyptus leaves in my logo because at a spiritual level eucalyptus leaves have a purifying effect and negative energy disappears in a place where you burn a eucalyptus leaf. In addition, eucalyptus oils are known for reducing mental stress and exhaustion and for helping individuals heal. These concepts resonated with me as a coach because I am providing a safe space for my clients to heal, reduce mental stress and exhaustion, and to release any negative energy or stressors that may be holding them back.

This is the time to find out more about what coaching is, and isn’t, and whether this is the right time for you to make the commitment. There is no obligation after this first call. It’s completely normal to have some fear of the unknown. Researching and learning more about what coaching can do for you will help shift some of that fear into productive action, whatever that may be for you.

Rediscovery Program

+ LEARN MORE

After a divorce, self-reflection can be difficult when implemented alone. Working with a coach allows you to take a step back and start to become more conscious of how you feel and how you perceive what is going on in your life.

The first step in the Post-Divorce Rediscovery Program is taking the Energy Leadership™ Index which is a one-of-a-kind assessment that pinpoints your specific blocks for moving forward post-divorce, giving you a baseline for your current situation. Gaining self-awareness about your thoughts and emotional reactions will open up opportunities to learn and grow. After taking the assessment, we will schedule an in-depth debrief session to lay the foundation of what the assessment measures, why it is helpful, and to go over your specific results. From there, you will have empowering information to start your coaching sessions where we utilize the information you learned from the assessment. Sessions are 45 minutes in length and will be held at a frequency discussed between coach and client. We will discuss what schedule is most helpful for your situation.

Assessment & Debrief

+ LEARN MORE

After your complimentary call, if you are still unsure about committing to a coaching relationship, many clients like to dip their toes in the water by starting with the Energy Leadership™ Index Assessment and Debrief. After taking the ELI assessment, we will get more specific as to what emotions and past experiences are getting in your way of moving forward in this next chapter. We will discuss concrete examples of what we could work on in a coaching relationship based on your results. After the assessment and in-depth debrief, we can discuss coaching opportunities.
